Amoxicillin:
It has broad spectrum Bacteriocidal activity and is effective against both Gram-positive and Gram-neagtive bacteria. Its action is due to inhibition of cell-wall synthesis of bacteria.
Lincomycin:
It has bacteriostatic action and has good serum levels for activity against Gram-positive bacteria. Its action is due to inhibition of protein synthesis of bacteria by binding to its 50s sub unit.
Spectinomycin:
It has broad spectrum bacteriostatic action against Gram-positive, Gram-negative and Mycoplasma. Its action is due to inhibition of protein synthesis of bacteria by binding to its 30s sub-unit.
Indications:
The three components given an excellent activity against the following micro-organisms in all animal species Mycoplasma, Salmonella, Bordetella, Staphylococcus, coli-bacillosis, and asteurella.
Usage:
- Treatment: lgm per 2 liters of drinking water for 3 to 5 days.
- Prevention: lgm per 4 liters of drinking water for 3 to 5 days.
