Florfenicol…………………..250mg
Colistin Sulphate…………0.5MUI
(Leads Specs)
Indication:
FC-MAX liquid is potent broad-spectrum, synergistic combination that effectively covers gastrointestinal and respiratory infections of bacterial origins, as well as secondary bacterial infections. It is effective against Fowl typhoid, Salmonellosis, Colibacillosis, Colisepticimia, Pullorosis, Air sacculitis, Fowl cholera, Infectious coryza, Mycoplasmosis (CRD & CCRD) and Staphylococcosis.
Significant features:
Effective against resistant bacterial infections.
Effective tissue penetration.
Highly bioavailability.
It covers most of the gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria.
It is very effective against aerobic and anerobic bacterial species.
Mechanism of action:
Colistin:
It belongs to Polymyxin group of antibiotics. It is polycationic and has both hydrophobic and hydrophilic moieties.
It interacts with bacterial cytoplasmic membrane and producing bacterial effect by changing its permeability.
Florfenicol:
It belongs to Amphenicols group of antibiotics.
It produces its bacteriostatic effect due to its lipophilic nature, which helps it to cross bacterial cytoplasmic membranes easily. It inhibits the protein synthesis of bacteria via binding with 50s ribosomal subunit in cytoplasm, which intern inhibits the activity of peptidyl transferase enzyme.
Synergism:
Colistin alters the cytoplasmic membrane permeability, which supports the penetration of florfenicol into bacterial cytoplasm for its inhibitory effect on protein synthesis.
Dosage and administration:
1ml per 3 liters of drinking water.
Precautions:
Its withdrawal period lies between 3-5 days.
Store in cool and dry lace below 25 C.
Protect from direct sunlight.
Keep out of the reach of children.
