Description:
Bacilox is a combination of two bacteriocidal antibiotics i.e Amoxicillin and Colistin. They both synergise effect of each other against wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
Amoxicillin:
It has broad spectrum Bacteriocidal activity and is effective against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Its action is due to inhibition of cell-wall synthesis of bacteria.
Colistin:
It belongs to the group of Polymyxins with a strong bacteriocidal action against Gram-negative bacteria like E-coli and Salmonella.
Indications:
Bacilox is indicated in infections caused by gram positive and gram-negative bacteria. This is a drug of choice especially in E.CoIi, ORT, Salmonellosis Infectious Coryza etc.
Dosage & Treatment:
- 1gm/4 liters of drinking water for 5-7 days or as directed by the veterinarian.
Prevention:
- 1gm / 8 liters of drinking water for 3-5 days.
Precautions:
- Store in a cool and dry place, protect from Sun light.
- Keep all medicines out of the reach of Children.
Withdrawal Period:
- Meat & Eggs: 8 days.
