Indication:

TD-MAX Powder indicated in Mycoplasmosis (CRD, CCRD), Colibacillosis, Colispeticemia, Colientritis, Salmonellosis, Air sacculitis, Fowl cholera, Infectious Coryza, Ornithosis, Sinusitis and secondary bacterial infections with signs of dyspnea.

Mechanism of action:

Tylosin:

It belongs to macrolide group of antibiotics. It binds with 50S ribosomal subunit within cytoplasm after crossing the bacterial cytoplasmic membrane and inhibits protein synthesis. It has a broad spectrum of activity against most of gram-positive as well as some gram-negative bacteria.

Doxycycline:

It belongs to tetracycline group of antibiotics. It binds with 30S ribosomal subunit its bacteriostatic actions. As it is a highly lipophilic drug and crosses multiple membranes of target molecules. It binds with 3OS ribosomal subunit its bacteriostatic action. It’s a broad-spectrum bacteriostatic agent, which is active against a wide range of Gram-negatives well as Gram-positive bacteria. C=Doxycycline also exhibits antiparasitic properties due to its high intracellular penetration. Its absorption from oral route is much rapid with high bioavailability of 94%. effective therapeutic levels are archieved within 2 hours which persists for longer periods because of longer serum half-life.

Bromhexine:

It is a bronchodilator, belongs to the group of drugs called expectorants. It is used as mucolytic. It increased lysosomal activity and enhances hydrolysis of acid mucopolysaccharide polymers in the respiratory tract. This increased the production of serous mucus in the respiratory tract, which makes the phlegm thinner and decreases mucus viscosity. This contributes to its secretomotoric effect and allows the cilia to more easily transport the phlegm out of the lungs. It is also used to reduce the production of prostaglandins and leukotrienes by inhibiting cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) thus reducing pain in inflammatory conditions such as arthritis or fibromyalgia.
